08.16.10 | After implementing several transformative organizational changes, Tedeschi Food Shops continues its evolution by welcoming several new executives to its leadership team. The company’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Allen Reardon, will be retiring at the end of August. Allen joined Angelo’s Supermarket 34 years ago as the Personnel Manager. In 1986, Allen was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources at Tedeschi Food Shops, and he currently holds the title of Senior Vice President of Human Resources. “Allen will be greatly missed by all that were fortunate enough to have worked with him, but his contributions to our company and employees will benefit us for many years to come” said Peter Tedeschi, the company’s President and CEO.
The company is proud to announce that the opening created by Allen’s retirement will be filled by the promotion of Greg Donoghue to the position of Vice President of Human Resources. Greg previously served as the company’s General Counsel and his familiarity with the company and its employees in conjunction with his extensive background in employment law made him the ideal choice to replace Allen. Greg completed his undergraduate degree at Bates College and studied law at Suffolk University Law School and has been practicing since 2004. Prior to joining Tedeschi Food Shops, Greg served as a Law Clerk to the Justices of the Superior Court of Massachusetts and as an associate at Preti-Faherty.
Glenn Leger has joined Tedeschi Food Shops, replacing Greg Donoghue as its General Counsel. After completing his undergraduate studies at Boston University, Glenn studied law at the University of Miami and was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1999. Since graduating, Glenn’s practice has focused on counseling public and private companies in a wide variety of legal matters, most recently at Proskauer Rose LLP, a prominent national law firm. Glenn’s ability to quickly assimilate his new role has enabled the company to comfortably surpass each of its transitional milestones.
Additionally, Douglas New has joined Tedeschi Food Shops as the company’s first Chief Information Officer. The creation of this new position is a direct reflection of the company’s continuing commitment to leveraging technology for competitive advantage and corporate agility. Prior to joining Tedeschi’s Doug worked at Putnam Investments for 11 years in multiple roles related to technology engineering and operations, most recently as Senior Vice President and Director of Site Operations. Doug received his undergraduate degree from DePauw University and earned a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from George Washington University.
